KITTERY LAND TRUST PROPERTIES

Thompson Easement

The Thompson property was conserved through a conservation easement from Marion P. Thompson in March 1991. Located off Dion Road, along Spruce Creek, it consists of approximately 8.5 acres of wooded upland and 9.5 acres of Old Mill Pond, abutting marsh and the old dam site at the entrance to Spruce Creek.

The Stewardship Committee is working on a management plan for the property. When complete, the plan will be included on this page.

KLT has partnered with the Spruce Creek Association to conduct a grant-funded study of the Thompson Mill Pond area. See this page on the SCA's website for more information.

Shown below are several pictures of the property, including views across Old Mill Pond. Click on any picture for a large image.

KLT members, working with employees from The Timberland Company, have spent several days cleaning up trash and debris from the property. The most recent clean-up day was in March 2005, when the crew removed several tons of steel and assorted garbage, as well as more than 60 railroad ties.

Below are several pictures of the property.
