Remick property
Ralph Remick donated more than 84 acres of property off Fernald Road to the Kittery Land Trust in March of 1999. The property is mainly upland forest near Dennett Road. The conserved land was increased in June 2004 with the addition of two four-acre parcels donated by Central Maine Power in mitigation for work in Kittery. In addition, CMP also gave KLT a right- of-way from Fernald Drive to the Remick property. A rough map outlining the approximate location of the Remick property is shown below. The 88-acre property is bisected by a CMP easement with power lines, and consists primarily of upland forest, with scattered pools, streams and several very wet areas. During 2004-2005, a lean-to log shelter was discovered on the property, in violation of the deed's restrictions. The lean-to was removed by neighbors at the request of KLT in 2005 during 2004-2005.
