Come join us to explore the great natural areas of Kittery! The
land trust is hosting a series of walks throughout the summer.
Join community volunteers on leisurely walks through our public
properties to see a side of Kittery you may not know. Please only
two-legged creatures on these walks, and be sure to check our web
site for directions, rain dates, recommended wear, and other details.
September 12 • 9 am- Bird Watching at Seapoint
Beach: Dave Tucker, Kittery Point resident and past
president of the NH Seacoast Audubon Society, will lead
a walk through the marsh and KLT property.
September 13 • KLT Clambake and Annual
Meeting at Fort Foster Schedule of Events:
2 pm:Tour the Fairchild Easement
Take a short walk on the public access section of our latest acquistion. 3 pm:The Clambake begins
Here’s the menu: Lobsters (or chicken, your choice), Steamers or Mussels
(depending on availability), Corn on the Cob, Rolls, Salad, Potato Chips,
Dessert, Soft Drinks & Coffee. Hot dogs are available for kids. 4 pm:22nd Annual Meeting
The Trust’s 22nd Annual Meeting will
include a recap of the year’s events,
and election of new board members and officers. (Clambake tickets are
not
required for the Annual Meeting.) 4:30 pm:“The Next 15 Years:
Why Conservation Organizations
Need to Think Big”
A talk by Tin Smith, Stewardship Coordinator at the Wells Reserve. 5 pm:Award Presentation
The fifth annual Friend of Kittery Conservation Award.
Tickets are $35 for each adult. Please indicate "lobster" or "chicken" on
your
reservation, include your email address and mail to:

Please send in your reservations by September 1st. You will not receive
tickets. Your name will be on the Fort Foster gate guest list on the day of the
clambake.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
KLT is undertaking a number of land stewardship programs this
year and volunteers are sought for a range of outdoor and indoor
activities. Please let us know if you have even a few hours of time to
contribute! Join a property monitoring walk, help manage invasive
species, build a wetland boardwalk or new trail kiosk, research
property and land use data. It is great exercise and great for our
