On Saturday, July 12th, the Stewardship Committee of the Kittery Land Trust undertook a double bill of property cleanup and trail maintenance. Volunteers moved old junk, build log bridges, and cleaned up trails through the woods. To watch the action, click here! On the Patten property off the end of Norton Road, we cleaned up mostly metal car parts and appliances using Charlie Bourdages's big dump truck, and others offered their ATVs and tractors. It was one big sandbox full of Tonka toys out there. Seeing is believing! Meanwhile, less than a quarter mile away through the woods, over on the Frawley property we cleaned up the trail and completed two more spans across the largest wet area. While the trail is now passable from one end to the other, it is overgrown and unmarked in some spots. The public is welcome to try to find and use it, but an official opening will wait until a little more work is completed. Join KLT's Stewardship Committee, and other members of KLT, and
learn about KLT's conserved properties while you help with monitoring
the properties' condition. Some months, we do not conduct monitoring,
but instead hold work sessions. The date of each walk will be announced
early in the month. For further details
