Armstrong property

The 29-acre parcel now known as the Armstrong property was formerly owned by Janice Armstrong Goodwin. The Kittery Land Trust acquired the property for back taxes in March 1996. Located off Norton Road, the property is primarily open wetland and wooded uplands.

The pictures below were taken by Steve Delaney on a monitoring walk done in January 2006 by members of KLT's Stewardship Committee. The property is isolated, with no current trail on it, and surrounded by undeveloped property. Houses may be glimpsed in two locations, but are difficult to see. In one spot, the committee members found a tree trunk with a large hole, about 10 feet off the ground. Large cat tracks were in the snow at the base.

The Stewardship Committee is working on a management plan for the property. When complete, the plan will be included on this page.
